  • Judges Needed for Upcoming Mock Trials (See openings by region)

    The Massachusetts Bar Association's 2024 High School Mock Trial Program is looking for attorneys to serve as judges during the second and third weeks of trials (Jan. 15-19 and Jan. 22-26). All trials will begin at 1:30 p.m.

    All judges will be provided case materials, a link to the Jan. 4 Judges' Orientation recording and all pertinent information in advance of the scheduled trials. If you are interested in volunteering to act as a judge in a trial, please contact Mock
    Trial Central at mocktrial@massbar.org.

    Do you enjoy working with students? Do you have trial experience? Would you like to share your knowledge of the law and courtroom procedures with eager young minds? Volunteer as an attorney coach or judge in the annual Massachusetts Bar Association High School Mock Trial Program.
     
    Since 1985, the MBA has hosted an annual, statewide High School Mock Trial Program to help students learn more about the law, court procedures and our legal system, and give them an opportunity to sharpen their analytical, listening and speaking skills. Members of the MBA serve as attorney coaches and judges for the Mock Trial Program, while thousands of high school students across Massachusetts participate. Students prepare a hypothetical case and then test their skills as lawyers and witnesses in a simulated courtroom competition. This year’s case is a criminal matter.
     
    The 2024 competition will be held in person at courthouses throughout the commonwealth.
