The New Child Support Guidelines

On July 18, 2017, Trial Court Chief Justice Paula M. Carey announced new Child Support Guidelines. The guidelines, effective September 15, 2017, offer substantial and substantive changes based on recommendations from the 2016-17 Child Support Guidelines Task Force.

Join the Massachusetts Bar Association for a panel discussion on Tuesday, July 25, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., at the MBA in Boston. Expert panelists, including Child Support Task Force members and the Child Support Task Force project manager, will provide an overview of the major changes to the guidelines including:

  • Parenting time

  • Child support for children between ages of 18 and 23
  • Contribution to post-secondary educational expenses
  • Health care coverage
  • Minimum and maximum levels of child support
