Shhhh...Impoundment, Privacy and Confidentiality Issues in Family Law Cases

When:  Jun 1, 2016 from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM (ET)

Dedicated to the Memory of the late Hon. Sean M. Dunphy

This program will address the rules and restrictions governing the protection of a client’s private information, including the most recent revisions to the Uniform Rules on Impoundment Procedure applicable to family law and civil matters.

Discover the remedies available when an opposing party or counsel attempts to disclose private health or financial information in the court’s public records, and find out how to ensure your client’s privacy is maintained by agreement or court order. Most importantly, learn how to efficiently use the Impoundment Rule and/or Motions for Protective Orders to convey important case information while maintaining your client’s privacy.

A judge and judicial case manager will share their perspectives, including when to ask for certain remedies, such as “in camera” reviews. The program will also involve discussions on the use and benefit of confidentiality agreements, attaching asset division charts and real estate protocols to sell real estate, and drafting tips for impoundment and protective order motions with accompanying affidavits.
