Need
Join fellow probate judges and practitioners for the Massachusetts Bar
Association’s Sixth Annual Probate Law Conference -- the largest gathering of
probate practitioners in the commonwealth. Whether your focus is estate
planning, administration, probate litigation or guardianship/conservatorship
matters, this unique conference provides something for everyone, from aspiring
to veteran practitioners.
In addition to opening
remarks by Probate and Family Court Chief Justice John D.
Casey, this year's keynote speaker will be Raymond H. Young. Attorney Young
has been active in probate and trust reform, including enactment of the Massachusetts
Uniform Probate Code and the Massachusetts Uniform Trust Code.
The conference offers 20 courses over multiple
programming tracks, providing
timely updates about probate practices, procedures and forms, new regulations,
and important court decisions. You’ll also hear practice tips from an extensive
faculty of judges and leading probate and estate planning attorneys. Featured
topics at this year's conference include:
- MUPC late and limited proceedings
- ABC’s of guardianship
- Resolving will contests by motions to strike and
motions for summary judgment
- MassHealth updates
- Guardianships involving alcohol, opioids and other substances
This MBA program qualifies
for GAL’s Category D re-certification. This MBA program has been approved for up to 4 CPCS Mental Health credits; 1 credit
for each guardianship session attended.
