The Young Lawyers Division of the Massachusetts Bar
Association, in collaboration with the Massachusetts Medical Society, invites
you to attend a substantive discussion on medical malpractice claims. Come hear some of Boston’s finest attorneys, as well as
hospital administrators and physicians, discuss the ins and outs of medical
malpractice.
From the initial incident and the realization that an unforeseen medical
outcome has occurred, to filing a claim, complying with the new Apology and
Disclosure Statute and ultimately bringing a lawsuit, there are many aspects to
a medical malpractice case. Evaluating claims and increasing transparency in the
process have become even more important with the advent of apology programs.
This panel will provide insight from all perspectives into not only the
claims process, risk management and the legal process, but also into dealing
with injured plaintiffs and representing physicians. This is a can’t-miss
event.
Speakers include Scott M. Heidorn of Bergstresser & Pollock PC;
John Ryan of Sloan & Walsh; and Elizabeth
Cushing, vice president of claims at CRICO.
A cocktail reception will follow the program to give you the opportunity
to network with colleagues. Complimentary wine and beer will be
available.
