The Massachusetts Bar Association’s Family Law Section is pleased to hold
this important program on the new Child Support Guidelines that go into effect
on Dec. 1, 2025. There is a rebuttable presumption that these guidelines apply
in all cases establishing or modifying a child support order, regardless of
whether the parents of the child are married or unmarried, the order is
temporary or final, or the court is deciding whether to approve an agreement for
child support. The updated guidelines are based on various considerations,
including, but not limited to, each parent’s earnings and income, and other
evidence of ability to pay.
This panel will discuss:
- Background of the 2024-2025 Child Support Guidelines
Task Force and the process of the Task Force
- Differences between the 2023 Child Support Guidelines
and the 2025 Child Support Guidelines
- What has not changed from the 2023 Child Support
Guidelines
- New features of the 2025 Child Support Guidelines
Worksheet
- How to calculate support under the new rules
This program will equip attorneys with the knowledge and tools to apply the
2025 Child Support Guidelines accurately and effectively. By understanding these
updates, attorneys will be better prepared to advise clients, advocate in court,
and ensure that child support orders are fair, consistent, and compliant with
the new standards.
This webinar will be held using Zoom. Registration is required by 4
p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, in order to participate in this program. An
email from MassBar Education will be sent before the
program.
