Challenging Implicit Bias in the Probate and Family Court

When:  Dec 2, 2020 from 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM (ET)

Our legal system is built upon an inherent and overarching assumption of equality under the law, and a denial of equal justice to one is a failure for all. Recent events have exposed the reality in our society that the aspiration of complete equality often falls short, sometimes with tragic consequences. Unconscious patterns in human behavior can give rise to an implicit bias that impacts delivery of justice in our legal system and in society in general.

Please join us for an in-depth panel discussion and interactive training with Probate and Family Court Chief Justice John D. Casey, David Hoffman, John Laing and Isaac Tesfay. Learn how to recognize implicit biases in yourself and how to minimize their impact in the context of Probate and Family Court matters.

This webinar will be hosted using Zoom. Registration is required by 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 1, to participate in this program. After you register with the MBA, please look for an email from MassBar Education with the Webinar ID and Password. The email will be sent before the program.
