Jury Trials in the COVID Era

When:  Dec 2, 2021 from 04:00 PM to 06:00 PM (ET)

Prominent litigators who have conducted jury trials since the courts resumed trials under COVID-19 protocols will share their experiences and successful strategies.

Challenges to be discussed will include getting on the trial docket, assembling a jury, conducting voir dire, ensuring witnesses' attendance and being heard while wearing a face mask. Practitioners will highlight ways in which they adapted their case presentations and offer their impressions of whether jurors were more or less receptive than pre-COVID fact-finders.

Additionally, the seminar will present a judicial perspective on conducting a jury trial during the pandemic and the challenge of hearing civil actions on a docket teeming with criminal cases.

This webinar will be hosted using Zoom. Registration is required by 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2, to participate in this program. After you register with the MBA, please look for an email from MassBar Education with the Webinar ID and Password. The email will be sent before the program on Dec. 2.
