I am a solo practitioner who has extensive civil litigation experience in substantive areas, including personal injury, consumer law, real estate, medical negligence, torts and media law. I have been a long-time college adjunct lecturer in law, having taught media law and business law classes at area universities, including Boston University and Emerson College.
Additionally, I am a licensed real estate broker affiliated with Keller Williams, which has afforded me a different perspective on the residential real estate market than what I gained as a buyer's or seller's attorney at closings. I am the incoming chair of the MBA's Real Estate Section Council.
Besides engaging in a more traditional law practice and serving as Of Counsel to the Law Offices of John C. Dorn, a Cape Cod personal injury attorney, another of my enterprises, The Write Lawyer, allows me to draft briefs, memoranda, and various legal documents for other attorneys. As an award-winning newspaper and magazine journalist and co-author of the MBA's 2010 Crisis in Court Funding Task Force Report, I also write articles, press releases and blog posts to assist attorneys in their marketing efforts. For many years, I authored The Unruly of Law (http://theunrulyoflaw.blogspot.com), which concerned legal and other developments in the news media and social media.
I am a graduate of Boston University and Suffolk University Law School (cum laude).
