Bio

I am very pleased and honored to be your President of the MBA. I enjoy meeting with so many people and learning from other leaders in order to collaborate on solutions and programs to assist members of our community as well as the bench and entire bar. There is are many needs out there, and we invite participation from everyone in order to try to meet them. Please join us in leadership.

I am also the MBA's representative on a committee whose goal is to create programs to decrease medical errors, improve transparency, and provide compensation to victims of medical errors (MACRMI).

In my private practice, I focus on representing victims with catastrophic injuries in the areas of medical negligence, product liability, auto accident, class action, and other personal injury cases.

I grew up outside of Scranton, Pennsylvania and attended the University of Scranton. After college, I volunteered with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps and worked with underprivileged children in Boston. I then attended Boston College Law School, became President of the Public Interest Law Foundation, and received the law school’s “Professional and Personal Achievement Award.” Following law school, I created the non-profit "Public Interest Law Project", which provided stipends to law students who worked during the summer to assist impoverished individuals. My committment to public interest led me to co-chair fundraising events for the Jesuit Volunteer Corps and Health Law Advocates (HLA), a non-profit law firm that provides legal assistance to those who are denied access to health care. I am also on the Board of Advisors for the National Patient Safety Foundation.

I have been on the Executive Committee of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys. I have published and lectured on trial and litigation strategy numerous times for the Massachusetts Bar Association.

I have spoken on patient rights and medical-legal issues on national television and for bar associations across the state. I have also testified before the Massachusetts State Legislature on various medical-legal legislation.
