State Militia Act

The way around the Second Amendment problem of gun control is to require that everyone who owns a gun must join the state militia.  Once a month they must come to the nearest armory for drill and practice.   Skipping meetings would be a criminal offence.

First, I see no good purpose served in fabricating a "way around" the Constitution.
Second, the proposed solution indicates an utter unfamiliarity with what the "state militia" is. The "militia" is composed of able-bodied male citizens between 17 and 45. MGL c. 33, sec. 2:
" The militia of the commonwealth shall consist of all able-bodied male citizens and all other able-bodied males who have declared their intention to become citizens of the United States, between the ages of seventeen and forty-five, and who are residents of the commonwealth, and of such other persons, male and female, as may, upon their own application, be enlisted or commissioned therein pursuant to any provision of this chapter, subject, however, to such exemptions as are now, or may be hereafter, created by law. "
Note that the Federal Militia Act, now 10 USC 311, reads almost exactly the same, except the Federal law includes females - IF they are part of the National Guard.
