The Employment Law Practice Group of the Labor & Employment Section has scheduled an open meeting for Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 12-1:30 pm at the MBA, 20 West St., Boston. All section members are invited to attend this free meeting.
The guest speaker will be Secretary Joanne Goldstein, Executive Office of Labor & Workforce Development. Secretary Goldstein will discuss the recent investigation of the Marriott Copley renovation, which led to numerous fines stemming from wage/hour violations and the Joint Task Force on the Underground Economy, its role in such investigations, and plans for introducing legislation expanding the reach of the state’s wage and hour laws.
