This is Part I of an Employment Law Basics program that is geared for attorneys with limited employment law experience and law students interested in practicing employment law. In Part I, we will cover M.G.L. Chapter 151B discrimination and retaliation claims, exceptions to the employment at-will doctrine, employment contracts, and disability accommodation.
Part II will be held in fall 2026. During Part II, we will discuss non-compete covenants and the Massachusetts non-compete law, the Massachusetts Paid Family Medical Leave Act, the Wage Act, the Fortune Doctrine, overtime rules and exempt/non-exempt issues under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
This program is being held by Zoom. Registration is required by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, in order to participate in this program. An email from MassBar Education will be sent before the program.
