Changes to Rule 1.15: New Rules and Procedures for Unclaimed and Unidentified IOLTA Funds

When:  Dec 11, 2024 from 01:00 PM to 02:30 PM (ET)

The Supreme Judicial Court has amended the IOLTA provisions of Massachusetts Rule of Professional Conduct 1.15, effective September 1, 2024. As a result of these changes, banks must notify the BBO of inactive IOLTA accounts, and lawyers must transfer unclaimed and unidentified funds to the IOLTA Committee within specified time periods, with notice to the BBO of transfers over $500. This program will offer essential information for attorneys to stay up-to-date with the latest changes to the rules of professional conduct.

Join Jenna Miara, Executive Director of the IOLTA Committee, for an informative session on these important rule changes and the processes for reporting and transferring funds.

This program is free to the legal community.

This webinar will be hosted using Zoom. Registration is required by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, to participate in this program. An email from MassBar Education will be sent before the program.
