From Executive Orders to Community Action: Sustaining Diversity,
Equity and Inclusion in Uncertain Times
This solutions-oriented program brings together leaders from civil-rights
organizations, academia, and law practice to unpack the legal and constitutional
landscape surrounding recent federal attacks on diversity, equity and inclusion
(DEI), and to translate it into practical steps for action.
Building on the series’ evolution after the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2023
Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard decision, the panel will clarify what
that ruling actually held and how it is being misinterpreted and misapplied
beyond higher-education admissions. Speakers will examine risk, compliance and
implementation.
Panelists will share concrete guidance on navigating effective DEI
initiatives and creating inclusive workplaces and safe spaces without unlawful
practices. Recognizing the moment’s broader community impacts, the program will
also highlight immediate “on-the-ground” opportunities with pathways for
volunteers to assist.
Attendees will leave with a constitutional frame, current policy
considerations and practical tools to sustain inclusive efforts in today’s
climate.
This informative event is FREE for all attendees.
