While mechanic's liens offer contractors, subcontractors and suppliers essential protection from the risk of nonpayment for the work they perform, Massachusetts law includes strict procedural requirements that must be followed to establish a lien effectively.
This seminar will provide a comprehensive overview of the statutory framework governing mechanic's liens under M.G.L. c. 254. Panelists will discuss the procedures for recording, perfecting and dissolving a mechanic's lien, identifying issues that each contractor, subcontractor or supplier should consider before a mechanic's lien is pursued. They will also provide practical guidance, suggested best practices and tips for compliance.
This program will be hosted virtually via Zoom. Registration is required by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, in order to participate in this program. An email from MassBar Education will be sent before the program.
