Argument Bench–Bar Perspectives on Courtroom Presence and Effective Advocacy

When:  May 14, 2026 from 04:30 PM to 06:00 PM (ET)

From First Call to Final Argument

This program will bring together judicial and practitioner perspectives on how lawyers can be effective, credible and confident in the courtroom. The discussion will range from foundational courtroom mechanics to more advanced advocacy considerations, with a particular emphasis on skills that newer litigators often do not learn in law school or through written materials.

While the program is especially well suited for junior lawyers, it is intentionally designed to be valuable to litigators at all experience levels. Even seasoned practitioners benefit from revisiting courtroom fundamentals and hearing candid feedback from the bench on what promotes effective advocacy. The program aims to demystify courtroom practice and help lawyers at all stages refine their advocacy in a way that ultimately benefits clients, courts and the profession.

This program is being held in person at the Suffolk Superior Courthouse. Registration is required by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, in order to participate in this program.
