Human Trafficking Task Force Demand Reduction
Subcommittee
On November 21, 2011, Governor Patrick signed H. 3808, "An
Act Relative to the Commercial Exploitation of People" into law. The law went
into effect February 19, 2012. As part of this anti-human trafficking law, the
Legislature created the Human Trafficking Task Force to address all aspects of
human trafficking through policy changes.
This
free program will focus on "Demand" and will examine:
• the nature and extent of human trafficking;
• the detection, investigation and prosecution of traffickers; and
• ways to curtail the demand side of trafficking through service
development, demand
reduction, system change,
public
awareness, and training.
