Limited Assistance Representation Training Program

The Family Law Section Council is sponsoring a Limited Assistance Representation (LAR) training session, which is free to all attorneys interested in learning more about LAR and how it benefits both attorneys and the public. Upon completion of this training session, attorneys will be certified to use Limited Assistance Representation in all divisions of the Probate and Family Court and in other departments of the Trial Court.

This training and certification will focus on:

  • What is LAR?
  • Rules, responsibilities and limitations
  • Official forms and standing orders
  • Intake processes, including client conversations, handouts, fee agreements and billing
  • Liability issues
  • Documentation of files
  • Best practices for LAR
