I am a principal in the firm of Rico, Murphy & Diamond LLP focusing on estate planning probate and tax law. My practice includes estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer and income tax planning for high net worth individuals, estate and trust administration, and the representation of nonprofit organizations and charitable trusts. I also provide tax advice to partnerships and other pass through entities.
I have authored articles and seminar materials on various estate planning and tax issues, including portability, family limited partnerships, liquidity planning for closely held businesses and the generation skipping transfer tax. Most recently I served on panel at the ABA Real Property and Trusts and Estates Section's Estate Planning Symposium discussing defined allocation clauses.
I am currently the Chair of the Business Planning Group of the American Bar Association's Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section.
In addition, I am a past Chair of the Massachusetts Bar Association's Taxation Law Section Council (2009-2012). Currently, I am an ex officio member of the Taxation Law Section Council and a member of the Probate Law Section Council.
